What’s Up Wednesday | October Edition

I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for their monthly What’s Up Wednesday. Also, linking up with GYPO.

It’s hard to believe Halloween is just next week! The kids still don’t know what costumes they’re going to wear. Looks like we’ll be busy this weekend running around getting ready for Halloween. Anyone else in the same boat?

🔶 WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK

Monday: Meatballs with rice and veggies.

Tuesday: Chicken and broccoli in hoisin sauce with rice. I’ll have to post a recipe soon. My kids devour this whenever I make it!

Wednesday: Chili, recipe can be found here.

Thursday: Taco night.

Friday: Eat out! After a long week of school and work, we like to go out to a restaurant on Friday nights.

🔶 WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT

I’m reminiscing how summer just flew by. We’ve been having some warms days lately so it’s hard to believe winter will be here soon.

🔶 WHAT I’M LOVING

I’m loving all the fall and Halloween decor we have displayed in our home. Also, during walks around the neighborhood, it’s fun to see all the pumpkins and Halloween decor on people’s front porches.

🔶 WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO

Just school and work, nothing too exciting.

🔶 WHAT I’M DREADING

Nothing I’m dreading at the moment.

🔶 WHAT I’M WORKING ON

I’m in the middle of sewing holiday pillows. Instead of buying more pillows, I buy fabric and make my own. I’m loving all the Christmas prints out there. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the latest pillows at HomeGoods but where do people store all their old pillows?! I think it’s just easier to swap out the pillow cover. If you have a suggestion on how you store your pillows, please leave a comment down below. I would love to know your methods.

🔶 WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT

I’m excited that Halloween is just around the corner, which means lots and lots of chocolate! My favorites are Twix and Crunch. Is it #badmom of me to ask the kids to get more of my faves? Ha!

🔶 WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING

The kids love Supergirl and the Flash so we watch those together at night. Shows I watch on my own, usually on the computer, are This is Us and Grey’s Anatomy. And when I’m in the mood for some comedy, I tune in to the Mindy Project and American Housewife.

September Reading List - www.designbysydnee.com

I like to wind down before bed by reading. There are so many books on my radar these days. My September Reading List is here if you need some recommendations. I’m currently reading this, omg, what a hoot!

🔶 WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

I use Pandora’s app to listen to a variety of music. This week, I’ve been listening to the Adult Hits Radio. I love this song, Home.

🔶 WHAT I’M WEARING

Bring on all the cozy sweaters and layers! I have a few of these fleece pullovers. They’re so warm!

I’m loving all the oversized chunky sweaters too, like this.

I love all the soft fabrics this season. This chenille cardigan is so so soft!  And the color is perfect for fall, don’t you think? [Other chenille options here and here.]

🔶 WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND

Last minute Halloween shopping for costumes and candy!

🔶 WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH

Thanksgiving, of course!

🔶 WHAT ELSE IS NEW

Nothing else that I can think of.

🔶 Bonus question this month: What’s your favorite Thanksgiving side dish?

My favorite Thanksgiving side dish would be dressing…or some people call it stuffing. But it has to be done right, I cannot stand dry stuffing.

Thanks for reading along!

Thanks Carly! My fall decor starts with Halloween, ending with Christmas. 🙂
