Hello! I have a recap of my trip to San Francisco last weekend. My husband was already out there for work so I took 3 days to go visit him. It’s been awhile since I was last here (too many years ago to remember!) but any opportunity to visit again, and I’ll be there. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express which was within walking distance to the Wharf and it included free breakfast every morning. Can’t beat that, especially in such an expensive town such as San Francisco! Just a warning that this post has a LOT of pictures! Let’s begin…
We arrived late afternoon so we only visited the Painted Ladies (#fullhouse) before having dinner and calling it an early night.
The next morning we were up early since we were still on Eastern time. We rented a car and we drove to Napa Valley to visit some of the wineries. We drove over the Golden Gate Bridge and under 2 hours, we were at our first winery. We’re not wine drinkers so I can’t give recommendations but I did a quick Google search of some of the more popular wineries that we should check out and we were able to hit three in one day.
They were still closed when we got there so I just took some quick pictures of the landscape. Despite it being overcast, it was breathtaking!
Our next winery was a castle. They had animals roaming the grounds too. So fun!
Look at the castle! It felt like we were somewhere in Europe instead!

Our second day was spent at the Fisherman’s Wharf. It’s not a trip to San Francisco without watching the sea lions, right?!
So many pretty flowers!
We walked through Chinatown, had dinner there, and that was the end of our second day.
I was on my own on the third day. I hit Ghirardelli, which was within walking distance from our hotel.
Before my trip, I checked the weather and I was afraid it would be rainy. The days in San Francisco were overcast but the sun peeked through a few times so it turned out perfect. I saw people dressed in winter puffer coats to shorts during the day but the evenings were definitely chilly and I was glad I had my thicker coat.
Some food pictures:
Calamari from Pier 39.

That wraps up our 3 day weekend in San Francisco! It was fun reminiscing about this trip because as I look out the window now, it’s snowing! We’re expected to get up to 8 inches today. Hope your Wednesday is off to a great start! xo
