We spent a few days in Williamsburg, VA last week, spending a day at Busch Gardens and another day at Water Country. This was our first family visit to the two parks and we had so much fun – we’re all eager to return!
My husband and son were roller coaster buddies. My daughter and I, on the other hand, stuck to the family-friendlier options. I’ve enjoyed my share of roller coasters when I was younger but now, not so much. #aging?
The Mach Tower below is the tallest attraction in the park. It rotates as it lifts to the top of the tower and then drops you at breathtaking speed. Just looking at it seems terrifying. I can’t imagine sitting in it…eeks! The two boys liked it though.
The steam on the left is from the frost fan which provided much needed relief from the heat!
The Loch Ness Monster ride is the world’s only double interlocking loop roller coaster according to their website.
This was the kids’ FIRST roller coaster ride when we got to the park.
We finally sat down to eat sometime in the late afternoon. The kids were go-go-go, so much to ride, so little time, haha.
You can’t go to a park and NOT get funnel cake! This one was topped with apples and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
We saw a hairy coo. The last time we saw these animals was in their native country. (See my travel post to Scotland and Ireland.)
It was a long day and the sun was going down when we made our way to the parking lot. Everyone was tired but happy!
The next day we hit up Water Country. I placed my bag and phone in a locker for the day so I don’t have too many pictures from this day except for the ones below.
I might’ve enjoyed Water Country even more than the amusement park. All the water rides were SO.MUCH.FUN! I can’t swim so I was a little worried but most of them were family friendly and we all had a great time!
